Lebbon in the UK

I'm thrilled and delighted to announce that Allison & Busby, a fantastic UK publisher, will be publishing my new fantasy novel FALLEN and my horror novel THE EVERLASTING this August! This is news I've been waiting for for a long time ... a publishing deal in my own country. And Allison & Busby are a joy to work with.

FALLEN will be released initially in hardcover, and THE EVERLASTING as a mass market paperback. There will be signings and launches, to be announced closer to launch date, so watch this space.

As and when there's more news, I'll let you know!

A happy,
Tim

Sir Arthur C Clarke

It's with sadness that I heard of the death of Arthur C Clarke. Just last week, I picked up his PS Publishing collection TALES FROM THE WHITE HEART, a fascinating collection of delightful, intriguing and sometimes slightly disturbing stories, and I'm almost at the end. I haven't read a book by him in years, and it's weird to open that cover now, see his signature, and think that the great man has touched this page.

He lived a long, fascinating life. He gave a lot to the world, in both his writing and his scientific endeavours, and I have fond memories of being scared witless by the opening titles of Arthur C Clarke's Mysterious World when it was shown on TV. Truly one of the greats, and the world's a better place for him.

Books Delivered and Reprinted

Chris Golden and I delivered THE MAP OF MOMENTS today. This is the second Novel of the Hidden Cities that Bantam Spectra will be publishing. The first, MIND THE GAP, is due out at the end of May, and watch this space for a couple of pieces of very exciting Hidden Cities news soon!

I heard yesterday that DUSK has gone into another printing, which is just great. This is either the 5th or 6th reprinting (I've lost count!), and I'm delighted that it continues to sell so well. Thanks everyone, and keep spreading the word!

FALLEN will be incoming very, very soon. And also very soon, some exciting news for my UK readers concerning FALLEN ...

Working Holidays

I spent a couple of days away this week, staying with a good friend of mine and working on a collaborative project ... in between browsing his stunning book, comic and cd collection, visits to the beach for coffee and bacon butties, the pub for ale, and various superb restaurants. An announcement will arise from this working holiday soon, but not just yet.

I had a wonderfully interesting journey on the way home. It was a long train trip with three changes, and I was sat next to:

A transvestite with a face like Mick Jagger and a fetching tartan mini-skirt;

A very hot blond who spent the entirety of her trip talking on her phone with a friend (she was just out of finishing school, and on Sunday she was soooooooo drunk that she couldn't sleep with Michael) ;

And for the last part of the trip, I had a stripper sitting behind me, telling someone on the phone about her new dance. She has to shake, apparantly. A lot.

I love working holidays.
