I'm currently adapting my latest horror novel THE EVERLASTING into a screenplay for a Hollywood producer, which I'm very excited about. I've done a bit of screenwriting over the past 12 months and really enjoyed it ... so I'm hoping to do a lot more in the near future. Apart from THE EVERLASTING there are a couple of other projects ticking over that I may be able to talk about some more soon.
The beautiful limited edition hardcover of THE EVERLASTING is still available from Necessary Evil Press. Don't delay .... these remaining copies won't last long! Visit http://www.necessaryevilpress.com/

So, I delivered my latest novel FALLEN a week ago today. Some people may think I'd take a break - kick back, sink a beer or two, go for some walks - and while I admit that yes, I have sunk a beer or two, I've not been resting. There may be some who think that vacant look is me asleep, but I'm always working, always thinking.
That's what I tell my wife. Always working!
Here's some of what I've been working on in the last week:
THE EVERLASTING - a screen adaptation of my latest horror novel from Leisure and Necessary Evil Press. Don't order those cinema tickets just yet, but I have high hopes ....
TALES FROM THE TOXIC CITY - a Young Adult trilogy of novels that I hope to start writing very soon. They're still in the planning stages right now, but I'm very excited about these books - they're timely, exciting, scary and thrilling.
INTO THE TREES - an idea I have for an original screenplay that will kick a whole shipload of ass.
THE ISLAND - the next Noreela novel, due to Bantam early next year but ... well, those creative juies are already flowing, and I have loads of ideas filling up page after page ...
... and ...
The most shatteringly expensive, painfully brilliant, awe-inspiring TV series ever created.
More soon.
I've just seen the beautiful cover art for AFTER THE WAR, my two-novella volume due early next year from Subterranean Press. You can see it here ... scroll down the page a bit. It's by Tomislav Tikulin, and I think it's quite breathtaking.
Today I delivered my third fantasy novel, FALLEN, to Bantam Spectra. For me, the feeling when delivering a novel is pretty mixed. Initially there's euphoria that I've finished another book, set it to one side, re-read it, made notes, re-written, re-read again, made more notes and done another edit and revisions pass before finally delivering (and I'm additionally smug this time because it's actually ten days before official delivery date).
Then the doubts start to creep in ...
But even 6 hours after delivery, I still believe that this book is the best I've ever written. It's a fantasy novel, the world is complex and well realised, the characters are interesting and very, very human (indeed, the strength of the novel lies in the main characters' human strengths and weaknesses). I hope. We'll see.
For now, I'm still in a happy phase, enjoying a superb bottle of Merlot and looking forward to hearing feedback from my agents and editor.
FALLEN ... it's set in a world some of you may recognise. But it's a whole new story.
... HERE!
You can now pre-order AFTER THE WAR, my new collection of two novellas based in my fantasy world Noreela, direct from the publisher.
It's always nice to see a new publisher emerge, especially when they have a name as wonderfully zany as Tasmaniac Publications! The first novella announced is THE LAZARUS CONDITION by Paul Kane, a clever and chilling zombie novella. Gary Braunbeck also has a couple of projects with them, and I look forward to seeing more of what this new publisher puts out in the next couple of years.

Coming soon .............
The 'Comment' feature has now been activated on this blog ... so you can come here and leave your views on my news and views, too.
Progress: Chris Golden and I have almost finished our collaborative novel MIND THE GAP, and we'll be delivering by the end of the month. I'm also revising FALLEN, which will also be in at the end of the month ... and then it's an evening's rest before starting the next project.
More soon!

My new horror novel THE EVERLASTING has been out for a while now, and you can check out a feature on the Leisure website called Tim Lebbon's Everlasting Memories. It's only short, but it talks a bit about my inspirations for the novel.
Hoping there'll be some exciting movie news about this novel soon ... keep watching!

The more eagle-eyed among you will notice that the Message Board has vanished from the site. It wasn't very busy, to be honest, and now that I'm updating this News and Views section more frequently, it was starting to feel redundant. So if you've got any questions, just email me (contact details are on the cunningly named Contact section of this site). You can also now leave comments about these postings, so please feel free.
Now that I'm back from France, I'm working hard on revisions and edits on the new Noreela novel FALLEN and the collaboration with Chris Golden MIND THE GAP, both of which will be delivered to Bantam by the end of June. There's also movie stuff ongoing, which I'll hopefully be able to reveal a bit more about soon, and some other ideas I had whilst sitting on a sun lounger in the back garden of a French gite. Maybe they'll turn into books. We'll see.
Brittany is wonderful. Had a lovely week drinking great wine, eating fantastic food and generally being lazy. My family and I visited good friends of ours while there, Mandy and Jeff, who own their own wonderful gite which is available to hire now. Check it out, and believe me, you won't be disappointed.
News hopefully coming soon on this site: Jack London, Atlantis, Arthur Machen, graffitti, and a fine Welsh pub. Intrigued? Watch this space ....
Chris Golden and I have been interviewed by the Fantasy Book Critic. Check it out here ... a couple of announcements hidden away here and there.
Just returned from a week in France (Brittany) and it was fabulous, what a beautiful country, fantastic food and great wine. Anyone looking for a place to stay, let me know and I'd be happy to recommend.
Lots to do this month, but I'll be here regularly with updates and, hopefully, an announcement or two.
